Our litigation practice extends to all courts throughout Uganda at all jurisdictional levels from the Magistrates’ Courts to the Supreme Court. The Litigation is based on a wide area of research through the existing law libraries in the country. Our litigation practice includes commercial and civil litigation, banking, bankruptcy, insurance, debt recovery, criminal law, tax, intellectual property, computer misuse, employment, contract, human rights and public interest litigation among others. At a time when the regular courts are overburdened by the large number of pending law suits, many Advocates, their Clients and most businessmen and women seek speedier disposition of their disputes through arbitration, mediation or other methods of resolving these differences outside the traditional courts of law. Our Firm is very keen on employing this technique as it saves the Client both time and money. The firm has a very well experienced team that has acquired extensive training in ADR.

processing of natural resources not
only is a vital industry in itself, it also
fuels several other industries that
power the Ugandan Economy. Over
the years, companies in this industry
have faced significant changes to
the way they operate, including
consolidation, price fluctuations and
operational efficiency. Environmental
concerns and an increasingly stringent
regulatory environment continue to
place new pressures on mining and oil
and gas companies and with our years
of experience we understand the
important issues that affect our Clients.
We provide sound advice on the
legal and regulatory framework in this
area and represent our foreign clients
through the necessary procedures
of acquiring interests in Uganda from
incorporation, licensing through to
protection of licensed tenements to
negotiations with government and all
attendant procurement processes.
Our Firm prides in the experience
acquired over the years in the field
of debt collection. Much as this is
a sensitive area, where Counsel
may have to adopt a number of
ways to get the debtor to pay up,
we have devised various effective
ways which we use to recover our
Clients’ debt. This is made possible
by our negotiation and arbitration
skills employed in debt collection and
management. Litigation is only used
as a last resort after careful assessment
of the possibility of success which
advice is given to our Client before
commencement of proceedings and
only for the debtors who prove to be
unresponsive.
